After researching some ways to attach the bottle caps to ribbon, I set to work. I made several different styles of bows and then started on the bottle caps. I used hot glue and filled the inside of the bottle caps. It looked like a lake of glue. I waited about 15 minutes for the hot glue to completely dry. I then used E6000 glue to attach the bottle caps to the ribbon. I purchased this glue at Walmart for a couple of bucks. I placed a small dab of the glue onto the ribbon and then laid the bottle cap onto the ribbon. It took about 20 minutes for the E6000 glue to dry. But it held the bottle caps securely onto the ribbon! Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos of the process, but here are some of the completed bows. I'll try to post some of the process soon! (I did post!)
You put the hot glue on the inside of the cap and then glue the ribbon to the dried hot glue with e6000?? I am kind of confused!
ReplyDeleteYes...it does sound confusing! I put the hot glue on the cap and wait for it to harden. This gives me a flat/flush back to work with. Once the hot glue is solid, I use the e6000 to make the ribbon stick to the cap.
ReplyDeleteI have tried just using the hot glue and sometimes the caps pop off of the ribbon.
