Bathroom Makeover- The tile has got to go!

This bathroom has been something that I've hated since we moved in 7 years ago.  Even though I've hated it, we haven't done much to make it better.  I'm pretty sure it has something to do with time and money.  Yeah, it definitely has to do with time and money.  Really money more than the time!
This downstairs/guest bathroom was a black and white theme!

*The previous owners used the wrong kind of floor tiles- it was always slippery!

In my opinion totally ugly and really reminded me of the 80's.  I loved the 80's as far as music goes, but home decor and clothing were not all that great (especially the big bangs and tight rolled jeans!)  Anyways...the bathroom got a little bit of a makeover when we had to replace the flooring.
My hubby realized that the floor was actually crumbling around the base of the toilet.  Upon further inspection, it wasn't just the tile that was crumbling but the floor joists as well.  Apparently the toilet was leaking and it rotted everything!  And on a side not, it wasn't just leaking water!  Ewww, gross!
So my awesome husband, who's not too comfortable with home improvements, got to work.  He tore up all of the tile and quite a few of the floor joists.  That's when the fun really began.  The toilet had been leaking before we even moved in.  The previous owners had tried to fix it but did it half-assed.  Ryan also had to take out most of the plumbing!  And he did it all without complaining, ahem- insert sarcastic laughter!

So to make a long story short, Ryan corrected the plumbing, put in new floor joists, laid down a new sub floor and installed laminate flooring!  All this from a guy who before buying a house, only knew how to change a light bulb.  It's pretty amazing what can happen when you have to fix a floor or fear that when you sit on the toilet, you might fall to the basement!

We'll see where this whole home improvement goes!
